Industrial Light and Magic is almost here!!! I’m totally excited, but the nerves are kicking in as well. Some new colors of fingerlights are going to be available this weekend and I’ll be selling them at Trick or Beatz and Grave this weekend. All of the airfaire has been purchased, all of the headliners confirmed, and the venue solidified. No it’s NOT at the 5th ave warehouse. The venue will be announced tomorrow afternoon/evening so stay tuned. As always as more information becomes available, the event homepage will be updated. I spent the morning at the zoo today with DJ Spear which was way cool… And now I’m off to an afternoon of flyering!!!
This is my first out of state booking and I’m totally stoked about it. AZHookahs will be in the house vending alongside! Poss, Cik, and Matthew Harris are down from Phoenix as well, and MC High IQ is down from Philly. This event is shaping up to be something mighty for certain! Just a lil sidenote, going through my logs, it looks like most of the people coming in lately have been coming from google and finding me by searching Batter Operated Tampons which is halarious. I’m posting this from foursome, Cik’s birthday party at area phoenix. So far things are shaping up towards awesomeness. I took delivery of 5000 flyers yesterday for no fucking records… major problem though… the printing company printed the wrong resolution file. The front is a lil grainy and the color is off a tad, and the back while still legible in most parts is kinda atrocious. They’re going to reprint them for free and let me keep the screwed up batch which means theres going to be almost 10,000 flyers in the wild for this event. Here’s hoping that kind of promotion will fill a lot of space. I’m honestly a lil nervous. The party itself is going to rock with the insane interactive visuals and lasers but a lot of the ravers in phoenix don’t know the names on the lineup and may not show because the usual gang of djs aren’t booked for it. I’ve heard promoters say it over and over that you try to give the kids something awesome and new and they leave you out to dry for it…. I really hope I can prove them wrong with this event. Ill have more event details posted shortly as well as a review of foursome which has gotten more awesome as I’ve been writing this. oh yeah by the way, atomic babies are going to tear it up so bring some extra underpants because you may just poop yourself.

So for a long time ClixBagofTricks has been a one man operation. I have the group of helpers and stuff I’ve thanked in the other post but I’ve pretty much done things solo. Anyways, I’ve had a rather ecclectic group of talent I’ve booked for my events and some other promoters have expressed interest in booking them. I’ve arranged a few in and out of state bookings for a few of my pals and I figure if I’m going to continue to do so I may as well form an affiliation sort of thing. Any ideas? good or bad plan? fill me in.
I’ve announced another event. This time I’m teaming up with Mitch of AzHookahs. No fucking records will feature all live acts as well as more interaction than any party in recent memory. Almost 1 year to the day from the first event, ClixBagofTricks.com along with partner AzHookahs continues with the innovation that you’ve come to expect from our parties with “No Fucking Records.” Borrowed from Macrodot’s slogan, “No Fucking Records” means exactly what you would imagine, there will be no turntables and no vinyl, a purely live experience. While providing a purely live experience would be pushing the standards, we’re not satisfied with leaving it at that. Feeling that there is a lack of connection between the electronic music genres which are in fact quite related, we will be featuring live IDM and industrial acts. I hatched the idea for such a party a while back and developed the idea with Hellguide but we had differing ideas for the direction the show should take, so now Arizona will get treated to a double dose of greatness instead of a single event and hopefully the more exposure our scene gets to events that dont follow “the formula” (anybody who’s been raving the past few years knows what Im talking about) the more open their collective minds will become. Like previoius events, this will be an immersive experience with the interactivity that makes all of our events fun.

I’m adding the seperate page for Raveos Rancheros today, so you’ll be able to see the flyers that Mike Saga made for us. I tell you that guy is AMAZING. I’ve been chatting with Michelle from Manna Cafe and she’s ramping up to get ready for the party. Her teas and boba/jelly are awesome, so please drop by her stand and have her whip you up a drink!
Im hoping attendance isn’t going to suffer being that we’re the night before EDC, but I dont think that’ll be a huge problem. There’s been plenty of people tell me they’re totally ready to go to both, and as I’ve said before, I’m not really worrying about numbers, I just want people to have fun and I think this night it totally gonna make it happen. I have my luchador mask ready… who else is good to go?
Just a quick note about the video podcast… I kinda let it stagnate for a while. I was in a period of transition for a while, with work, side work, computers etc. Now I’m an entirely mac setup at home (17″macbook pro and 20″ imac) and I’ll be cranking out more video asap. I’ve got a couple of episodes almost done, so be on the look out.
Lastly is a bit of a personal note… After about 2.25 years… I guess I’m not single anymore… dunno how it happened, it just kinda snuck up on me… and I dont have a problem with that 
Yay Im writing my first entry from my new phone! I got myself an htc advantage. Big Mike and I announced our next party! We will be throwing “Raveos Rancheros” June 29 2007. Its a mexican themed rave featuring The Nice Guys headlining! Look for flyers to be hittin the streets soon. This will be a legal indoor party and as with all clixbagoftricks events we will be collecting for st. vincent de paul charity.

Wow… it seems like not long ago I was stressing about Kindergarten Rave, and now my next events arent far off. A venue totally fell in my lap and so I announced “My Friend Jason’s House” on Friday April 13th 2007. Not long before announcing that one, I released the announcement for “Lightswitch Rave” which will be featuring Phil York, Mindbender, Mike Saga, Sean Apollo and others. Looks like the future is a pretty busy place.
I’m super excited guys!!!! 2morrow is the day… I picked up all the headliners today and we’re gonna go hit tranz… Dont worry… venue is announced early 2morrow so you guys can plan your trips!
