So we just upgraded to Cox “Premier Plus” internet tier. Our DCM-202 modem had been placed on cox’s “retired” list and without warning stopped working. So I went out and bought a DOCSIS 3.0 compliant cable modem and ordered the upgrade… The results below speak for themselves. I’ve always been content with Cox high speed cable internet… now I’m ecstatic.

I guess I’m famous on the internet… or something like that. I keep finding pictures of myself popping up here and there, but now there’s a lot of pictures of my tattoos over at somethingawful. At least they’ve had nice stuff to say about me…

I know this guy. Used to work with him. He has Ken on the other side. The back of this head is his name in binary. The fireballs have black light ink on them to glow. Pretty cool cat.

I also know this guy. He’s a rave promoter and porn photographer in Phoenix. He’s got a full leg of Pac Man with UV ink, and “glow life” on his fingers in UV ink as well. He’s probably the nicest person on the planet, just really into body modification.

God dammit, now I feel bad. Still, you have to admit the binary tattoo is stupid.
I’ve worked with this guy as well. Strange mother fucker but as dAPER said he’s nicest person I’ve ever met and that includes my grandmother. He doesn’t drink but will always pay for your group’s post-bar Denny’s tab if he’s tagging along. He also enjoys stunt motorcycle riding as well. About the only downside to knowing Brandon is don’t EVER click on a link he IM’s you or watch anything he has on his phone. Live scrotum piercing comes to mind.
So yeah I guess people know me. I’m not sure if that’s a good thing… eh who knows.
Ok I know this isn’t a porn blog, and usually I don’t talk about porn on this blog… but I came across a scene with a girl whos hair blew my mind… If you take a look at this clip (nsfw as if the entry title didnt indicate that, and no clicky if you’re under 18), you’ll see exactly what I mean. How does this have to do with the rave scene? I guess it doesn’t really… but then… Im kinda workin on integrating more of my life into this site anyways! hooray for daisy tanks!

So, a couple of days and many hours of thoughts later, I am ready to share my views of the evening. Leading up to this party I was certain that its reception would be with discomfort at best, and at worst absolute rejection. As it turns out, the result was somewhere in between.
There was a bit of a problem with ravers not being sure what was being handed to them. This event, while very raveish to coin a term, was not an ACTUAL rave. It took elements of rave, industrial, IDM, and other cultures and mashed them all together with live acts to become the show it was. Ravers in Phoenix are VERY resistant to change, and if you’re not giving them the same party with the same DJs playing the same tracks in the same sort of venue week after week, they’ll turn their backs on you quickly. I like to, with the events I throw, or my partners and I throw, try to introduce the ravers to new concepts or new music that can eventually become part of their weekly intake. The decision to do this for the entire duration of an event without any of “the usual suspects” to fall back on, in retrospect, may have been a poor one. It was my honest hope that the party kids out here would be willing to expand their minds a little bit and try something new. A few people have agreed with me when I said, “I am disappointed in our ravers.” Please take into account, this is ONLY in regard to the INTEREST in the event. The older and more seasoned EDM crowd showed GREAT interest in the idea and its execution. The actual attendance needs to be addressed with 2 factors in mind.

The venue for Just Keep Raving was way cool. I had driven past the 10 story office building downtown many times wondering just what was there… this time… it was a rave. We setup in our own little room and got the ball rolling. The party went off pretty well but ended up WAY overcrowded. I still had a pretty good time but was a little disappointed. When I asked how they were going to make it Finding Nemo themed other than JUST on the flyer, I was told they’d have bubble machines and lots of decorations. No such luck. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again… It’s LAME to come up with a name, design your flyer around it, and then not follow through with the party itself. If you really just wanna throw a party with some djs, especially if it’s just the usual suspects, just call it SUPERDUPERRAVEPARTY1000 or something like that… Don’t try to trick people into thinking they’re getting a cool themed party.
After the party, while we were unloading, we managed to get stuck in an elevator. We took the main elevator down then got in the freight elevator which got stuck between the basement and first floors. Of course I shot a video of our escape:
After our escape, we got approached by a cop while loading the truck. Apparently they were lacking on a few of the permits so they decided to shut the party down… little did they know however that the party was already over! So instead of busting the party, they kept everybody detained and called the parents of all those under 18 years old. During the detainment, I discovered there were several kids who deserved to be punched in the throat. Maybe nobody ever taught them how to handle themselves in the face of authority, no matter how ridiculous the authority figures may be behaving, it is important NOT to antagonize them if you want a swift end to the evening. I’m all for the protection of civil rights etc, but sometimes it’s not THAT big a deal and you just want to go to bed. Offering the cops lightshows and plastic jewelry and asking them to hit you with the tazer is NO way to get home in a reasonable amount of time. In that situation where you face pretty serious penalties and the people who provided you with the party do as well, it’s a better idea, and more respectful idea to those who threw it, to just sit and be quiet and let them send you home.
Anyways… here are the pictures

The following is a quote from a post I made on a local rave forum.
personally… I wouldnt cry if the chemical aspect of our culture went away, I’ve never indulged in it anyways… but… I would certainly rather IT than alcohol. And as far as the strength in numbers…. well.. that works when you have great numbers… unfortunately for those numbers despite what the post statistics on this forum may say, it’s not extremely viable. This forum is definitely NOT a microcosm of the edm scene. Most of the kids who just wanna go have a good time could give a damn less what any of the worn out ex ravers longing for the scene they remember through clouded recollection have to say. Seriously so many of us started raving way before we were 18, why should it be any different for the ravers today? And while it wasnt really mentioned in this thread, I guess I’ll breach the can of worms… While happy hardcore dont do much of anything for me, I get it. Are all of you seriously turning into such geezers that you cant remember loving a kind of music because of how it spoke to you regardless of what the older generation thought? Are you really that out of touch that you dont hear yourselves sounding like the parents who blasted rock and roll as ruckus and noise and their kids who grew up to pontificate against hiphop? You are all old and becoming the parents who many of you struggled so hard against. Do as I say, not as I do, and TURN OFF THAT NOISE!!! Why can’t you listen to REAL music?
