Lingerieve 2 went off super amazing!!! The pictures are posted here!  There’s also a few animated gifs including the one of Luscious shaking her amazing booty.  There was something bordering on a kabillion people there.  The music was bangin ALL NIGHT.  Widget Phreak played his gameboy remix of Ass & Titties by DJ Assault and the gameboy remix of Come Running and Elysium.  When the kids heard the opening notes, they charged the stage the same way they always do when come running is normally played… but nobody expected what was dropped on em!  My dad’s set was super amazing and the dancefloor stayed packed the whole time.

The crowd was super huge and some people even said it was overwhelming, but really… isn’t that what makes an awesome rave?  I remember raving back in the late 90s and if you werent packed into a warehouse like a can of sardines it wasnt a great party.  We actually had to open a couple of the theater auditoriums to accomodate overflow as chill rooms.  The fire department and police departments showed up to make sure everything was going smoothly and sure enough they were.  The whole event went without a hitch.

The only minor letdown was the lighting on the main stage.  It wasnt HORRIBLE, but it didn’t do Phil York justice and there was a lil bit of a miscommunication about what we were getting at what price point.  The lasers and visuals on the main stage kicked ass.  As always, Karl from Laser Wizardry didn’t disappoint!  Very special thanks are in order for Jim from Flock Productions who really went the extra mile for me in securing the generators, running the wiring, ensuring the scissorlift was available, and providing some kick ass sound at the same time!

Matt Dunn provided the sound for the second stage while NeuLSD did the lighting.  Between the two we were graced with a simply amazing room that kept kids going.  No matter which stage you were by however, the energy and vibe were so thick you’d need a machete to cut through them. I for one was blown away when I saw that the dance floor was STILL packed at 4am when the lights came on.  The ravers really showed what the phoenix rave community is capable of this time around.

Musically I think this party was a little different than what everybody was used to.  WIdget Phreak played his traditional gameboy live set, Doug the Soundsmith (my dad) played a set of all early 90s electronic, Mindbender, Phil York, and in what was a surprise to me, Nytus, blew it up with the hard dance, and one of my favorite parts was when the Germ and Integrity blew it up with the acid and hard techno that Phoenix kids almost NEVER get any exposure to.

I suppose I should wrap this up with some special thanks.  Obviously all of the DJs get kudos for keepin the tunes pumping, but there were plenty of people behind the scenes that nobody gets to see in action but without whom, the party NEVER would have gone off.  So in no particular order, here we go…

Matt, the theater owner gave us the chance to use his building for our venue when the chips were stacked against us, and it saved our necks.  His name was on the flyer, so it’s apparent he did the design, but Mike Saga gets credit anyways.  The flyer was so incredible and eye grabbing, and obviously had a large amount to do with our party going off so well.  Jamie helped out a great deal with picking up and ferrying around our headliners and then working the door all night like such a trooper she is.  Jillian helped a great deal with getting people around and keeping the vendor table running with Kyle who always does way more than his fair share to help out.  Cookie, Hellcat, Steve, and the rest of their crew amazed the kids with another amazing performance.  We are eternally grateful to Bree and Luscious for doing security detail even though they originally just came to party.  You guys kept our lines moving smooth and made me a happy tree!!  Carson was a great partner to throw a party with, and like always… Many special thanks go to Matt Dunn for being my inspiration for getting into throwing parties.  Make sure if you see him to thank him because without him, Lingerieve, or any of the other parties I’ve thrown, most likely would still just be pipe dreams in my imagination.
