I’m posting this from foursome, Cik’s birthday party at area phoenix. So far things are shaping up towards awesomeness. I took delivery of 5000 flyers yesterday for no fucking records… major problem though… the printing company printed the wrong resolution file. The front is a lil grainy and the color is off a tad, and the back while still legible in most parts is kinda atrocious. They’re going to reprint them for free and let me keep the screwed up batch which means theres going to be almost 10,000 flyers in the wild for this event. Here’s hoping that kind of promotion will fill a lot of space. I’m honestly a lil nervous. The party itself is going to rock with the insane interactive visuals and lasers but a lot of the ravers in phoenix don’t know the names on the lineup and may not show because the usual gang of djs aren’t booked for it. I’ve heard promoters say it over and over that you try to give the kids something awesome and new and they leave you out to dry for it…. I really hope I can prove them wrong with this event. Ill have more event details posted shortly as well as a review of foursome which has gotten more awesome as I’ve been writing this. oh yeah by the way, atomic babies are going to tear it up so bring some extra underpants because you may just poop yourself.

So for a long time ClixBagofTricks has been a one man operation. I have the group of helpers and stuff I’ve thanked in the other post but I’ve pretty much done things solo. Anyways, I’ve had a rather ecclectic group of talent I’ve booked for my events and some other promoters have expressed interest in booking them. I’ve arranged a few in and out of state bookings for a few of my pals and I figure if I’m going to continue to do so I may as well form an affiliation sort of thing. Any ideas? good or bad plan? fill me in.

Hardcore Heroes

The party was amazing.  Kyle and I had a great time making sure all the kids had the toys they needed to have a good time themselves and danced away to the hardcore goodness.  I’ve always known Rize knew how to throw a good event, and Sparrow proved the same.  I’ve got the photos posted already and there’s some cute ones.  I think the Arizona scene needs a few more parties like this.  So many kids are so concerned with there being a bazillion stages and I’ve heard kids say “I didnt go because it was only one stage.”  Wouldnt you MUCH rather see one stage of really great talent than 3 stages of mediocrity?

The following is a quote from a post I made on a local rave forum.

personally… I wouldnt cry if the chemical aspect of our culture went away, I’ve never indulged in it anyways… but… I would certainly rather IT than alcohol.  And as far as the strength in numbers…. well.. that works when you have great numbers… unfortunately for those numbers despite what the post statistics on this forum may say, it’s not extremely viable.  This forum is definitely NOT a microcosm of the edm scene.  Most of the kids who just wanna go have a good time could give a damn less what any of the worn out ex ravers longing for the scene they remember through clouded recollection have to say.  Seriously so many of us started raving way before we were 18, why should it be any different for the ravers today?  And while it wasnt really mentioned in this thread, I guess I’ll breach the can of worms… While happy hardcore dont do much of anything for me, I get it.  Are all of you seriously turning into such geezers that you cant remember loving a kind of music because of how it spoke to you regardless of what the older generation thought?  Are you really that out of touch that you dont hear yourselves sounding like the parents who blasted rock and roll as ruckus and noise and their kids who grew up to pontificate against hiphop?  You are all old and becoming the parents who many of you struggled so hard against.  Do as I say, not as I do, and TURN OFF THAT NOISE!!! Why can’t you listen to REAL music?

2007 is over and 2008 has begun. Last year was amazing, here’s hoping this year is even better. 2007 saw the throwing of my first several events as well as a great deal of personal evolution. These events and my personal growth were possibly largely in thanks to external influences, and it would be impolite for me not to acknowledge them. This list is in no particular order and is probably not going to be exhaustive on first revision, so it will probably be added to with time… so here we go:
